On Thursday afternoon in London, QS released the first Future Skills Index 2025 report. In this, India has been ranked second among the most prepared job markets for the skills in demand in the future in emerging technologies. Indeed, it is known for its prestigious university rankings.
Mew Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday January 16, 2025 praised India’s performance in the ‘QS World Future Skills Index’ and termed it valuable. The PM wrote in a post on X, “It is a pleasure to see this! Over the last decade, our government has worked to strengthen the youth by equipping them with skills that can make them self-reliant and create wealth. We have also leveraged the power of technology to make India a hub of innovation and enterprise.”
The PM has given his response to the post of QS CEO and Managing Director Nunzio Quacquarelli. It is written in this post that this is a proud moment for India. The Prime Minister further wrote that the insights from the QS World Future Skills Index 2025 are valuable. Because we are moving forward on this journey towards prosperity and youth empowerment.
QS has released the first Future Skills Index 2025 report on Thursday afternoon in London. In this, India has been ranked second among the most prepared job markets for future in-demand skills in emerging technologies. Actually, it is known for its prestigious university rankings.
According to this report, after America, India is the second country where the young population has been found to be most qualified for the future needs in high demand areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital, Green Energy.
India’s workforce has been considered the most professional in the QS World Future Skills Index-2025 report. QS Executive Director Ashwin Fernandes said, the latest QS ranking shows that India’s workforce is working in step with modern technology. India is also fully prepared to deal with future challenges. India’s work in areas like AI, Digital and Green Energy is one step ahead of other countries of the world. In the QS report, America is first with a score of 100 points, while India is second with a score of 99.1 points. Mexico was third with 98.2 points.
India’s overall ranking 25
India’s overall ranking in the list was 25. In the parameters on which QS did this ranking, India is ranked 37th in the Skill Fit category, 26th in the Academic Readiness category and 40th in the Economic Change category. Indian youth are competing with the world in terms of future needs. The ranking has been done on four points – Skill Fit, Academic Readiness, Future of Work and Economic Change.
India is leading in the use of AI
According to the report, India is ahead of other countries in the world in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This strength of India can help it to move further ahead in the future. However, the need for India to improve in some areas has also been emphasized. The report said that according to the ever-increasing needs of AI, digital and green skill sector in the industry, Indian students should be skilled in these areas.
