J&K : The bugle for assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir sounded. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is going to start his rally here from today September 4 . Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start it next week. Voting for the first phase will be held on September 18.
Rahul Gandhi will launch his party’s campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections with 2 rallies in Ramban and Anantnag districts on Wednesday September 4 . According to Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Tariq Hamid Karra, Rahul Gandhi will reach Jammu from New Delhi. First of all, he will campaign for former Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Vikar Rasool Wani. He is contesting from the Banihal assembly constituency.
After this, Rahul Gandhi will go to Dooru area of Anantnag district, where he will address another rally in support of Congress general secretary and former minister Ghulam Ahmed Mir. Mir is contesting from the Dooru assembly constituency. Karra also said that after addressing the rallies, Rahul Gandhi will return to Delhi from Srinagar in the evening.
PM Modi will address 3 election rallies in Jammu and Kashmir next week. Modi will address 2 rallies in Jammu region and 1 in Kashmir. PM Modi’s speeches are expected to mention the abolition of Article 370 as well as the development work done in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years. Also, he can mention the quota for SC/ST communities in assembly seats for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir.
PM Modi is likely to visit the Union Territory after September 8. He will definitely address at least 1 rally in Doda of Jammu region. Recently, many terrorist attacks have taken place here.
Elections will be held in 3 phases
The proposed assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in 3 phases. The first phase of elections is on September 18, the second phase on September 25 and the third phase on October 1. Congress and National Conference are contesting the elections together in this assembly of 90 seats. After a long gap, both the parties are going to contest the elections by forming a pre-poll alliance. Out of this, Congress is contesting on 32 seats and National Conference on 51 seats. 2 seats have been given to the ally party, while there will be a friendly fight on 5 seats.
