Ranji Trophy 2024-25: The first round of the country’s prestigious domestic tournament Ranji Trophy is going to start today. In this two-stage tournament, 38 teams will compete against each other for the title. Of these, the top 32 teams have been divided into four groups of eight each in the Elite category, while 6 teams are included in the Plate Group. In the first match of the tournament, 42-time Ranji champion Mumbai will take on Baroda. The Ajinkya Rahane-led Mumbai team will enter as a strong contender for the title after recently defeating Rest of India in the Irani Cup 2024.
Let us inform you that Mumbai’s team became the winner in the last season of Ranji Trophy. In March 2024, Mumbai won their 42nd domestic title by defeating Vidarbha by 169 runs in the final at Wankhede Stadium.
