Record of paddy purchase broken year after year: More than 149 lakh metric tonnes of paddy purchased in Chhattisgarh, 25.49 lakh farmers sold paddy-Photo-Arrangements

*Rs 31,089 crore paid to farmers in lieu of paddy procurement
*D.O and T.O issued for lifting of more than 121 lakh metric tonnes of paddy of the total procurement

Raipur – CG Purchased Paddy: Record purchase of paddy has been made in Chhattisgarh in this Kharif season as well. According to the data received till 6.45 pm today on the last day of paddy purchase, more than 149 lakh metric tons paddy has been purchased in the state. 25 lakh 49 thousand registered farmers of the state have sold paddy so far. In lieu of paddy purchase, farmers have been paid Rs 31 thousand 89 crore under bank linking system. It is notable that last year 144.92 lakh metric tons paddy was purchased.

Food department officials said that along with paddy procurement, paddy is being lifted at a fast pace for custom milling. So far, D.O and T.O have been issued for lifting of 121 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. Against which 100 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted.

It is worth mentioning that 27.78 lakh farmers have been registered by the state government for this Kharif year. This includes 1.59 lakh new farmers.
