Junior doctors said- if the promises are not fulfilled then they will go on strike again

Finally, junior doctors of West Bengal will end their protest that has been going on since September 10 outside the Health Bhavan in Salt Lake, Kolkata today on September 20.

In a press conference late night on Thursday 19 September, it was told that they will return to work from tomorrow , Saturday 21 September. However, the doctors said that their strike will continue partially. They will provide emergency and essential services for now. They will also set up medical camps in flood affected areas. But they will not participate in the functioning of OPD and cold operating theatres.

The striking junior doctors said that their fight for justice is not over. They are giving one week’s time to the Bengal government. If during this time the government does not implement all its promises, then they will start their strike again. Let us inform you that after the rape-murder of a trainee doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on 9 August, the doctors have been on strike for the last 41 days.
