Domestic currency opens higher at 95.70 amid positive market sentiment and improved investor confidence

Mumbai : The Indian rupee appreciated by 12 paise to 95.70 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday, supported by positive domestic market sentiment and improved investor confidence.

Forex traders attributed the rupee’s early gains to encouraging cues from domestic equity markets and steady investor optimism, although they noted that global economic developments and crude oil prices continue to influence currency movements.

The rupee opened on a firmer note in the interbank foreign exchange market, strengthening against the greenback after witnessing volatility in recent sessions.

Market participants will continue to monitor global economic indicators, foreign institutional investment flows and monetary policy expectations, all of which are expected to influence the rupee’s movement in the coming trading sessions.

Currency analysts also said that fluctuations in the US dollar index and international crude oil prices remain key factors affecting the domestic currency.

Despite persistent global uncertainties, the rupee’s positive opening reflects improving market confidence and resilience in the domestic financial markets.
