Azerbaijani government sources have claimed responsibility for this attack, in which 38 passengers were killed. According to Azerbaijani government sources, this attack took place amid drone activity over Grozny, Chechnya.
Pieces of the missile hit the plane, causing injuries to passengers and crew. For example, it is being said that the missile exploded very close to the passenger plane. If sources are to be believed, the plane was not allowed to land at the Russian airport. After this, the plane had to be diverted towards Aktau in Kazakhstan.
Possibility of jamming of the plane’s GPS system
It is also being claimed that during the flight, the GPS navigation system of the plane got jammed, which worsened the situation and the plane had to remain in the air for hours. On Thursday, the rescue team recovered the black box of the plane.
The accident site is being continuously monitored to facilitate investigation. The Kazakh Emergency Situations Ministry said that 306 personnel have been deployed in the rescue operation, including canine units. The bodies of 38 people, including six Kazakhs and three crew members, who died in the plane crash, have been sent to the forensic test center. So far, seven people have been identified.

Talking to the Kazakh media, aviation expert Abul Kekilbayev stressed the need for a thorough investigation of the incident. He said that at present there are many theories floating around, which can derail the investigation.” He said that it is important to collect all the debris and information of the plane for the investigation.
He praised the pilots and said that their efforts reduced the possible damage. He said that the plane could have fallen straight, but the pilot tried to glide it. This saved many lives. If it had fallen straight, no one would have survived.
