Sanction of financial assistance amounting to approximately ₹11,98,84,000 to 6,809 individuals and institutions from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Grant Fund.
Raipur: Significant decisions were taken on Wednesday April 29, 2026 during a Cabinet meeting held here at the Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan), chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
The Council of Ministers today approved the “Chhattisgarh Urban Gas Distribution Policy, 2026.” Through this policy, the availability of clean and affordable natural gas will be ensured across the state, providing common consumers with a cost-effective alternative compared to LPG.
Furthermore, this policy will facilitate the expansion of rapid and seamless gas supply via pipelines, thereby fostering a convenient fuel infrastructure within urban areas.
This initiative will promote clean energy, diversify fuel usage, and—alongside the development of pipeline infrastructure in the state—generate large-scale investment and create new employment opportunities. This decision by the State Government marks a significant step toward strengthening both environmental conservation and public welfare.
The Council of Ministers decided to allocate 5 acres of land—drawn from the land parcels registered under the name of the ‘Suryamukhi Devi Rajgami Sampada’—to the District Cricket Association, Rajnandgaon, at a concessional rate for the construction of a modern sports ground and a cricket academy.
The Council of Ministers granted approval for financial assistance amounting to approximately ₹11,98,84,000, disbursed from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund to 6,809 individuals and institutions.
This financial aid has been provided with the objective of offering immediate relief to the needy, strengthening social support mechanisms, and providing assistance during various critical situations.
The Council of Ministers decided to review and subsequently revoke the previously issued demotion order dated September 26, 2019, concerning three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the 1988 batch: Sanjay Pillay, R.K. Vij, and Mukesh Gupta.
Concurrently, while setting aside the related decision taken on September 24, 2019, the Council of Ministers has deemed all orders issued in pursuance of that decision to be revived and restored to the status quo ante (the position prior to the meeting).
This decision was taken following a comprehensive examination of all relevant administrative facts and circumstances.
