Sameer Wankhede, the famous officer who sent Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan to jail, enters politics, will contest elections from this party

Sameer Wankhede Politics Entry: Maharashtra’s famous IRS officer and former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede, who sent Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan to jail, will enter politics. According to sources, Wankhede may contest from Mumbai’s Dharavi assembly seat in the Maharashtra Assembly Election. According to sources, Sameer may join the Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde faction.

Currently, Congress MP and Mumbai Congress President Varsha Gaikwad is the MLA from Dharavi Assembly seat. Varsha Gaikwad wants to make her sister the Congress candidate from this seat. Now there is talk of Sameer Wankhede contesting from this seat.

Let us inform you that last year, the CBI had registered a case against Wankhede for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 25 crore to implicate Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a drugs-on-crime case. The agency said that the deal was completed for Rs 18 crore, adding that Wankhede’s assets were more than his known sources of income.

Before entering politics, Sameer Wankhede will have to resign from the IRS post and the resignation will have to be accepted by the Home Department of the Central Government. After that the way for entry into politics will be clear.

Who is Sameer Wankhede
44-year-old Sameer Wankhede is a 2008 batch IRS Indian Revenue Service officer. Till 2021, he served as the zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai. Before joining the NCB, Wankhede had worked with the National Investigation Agency and the Air Intelligence Unit. During his 15-year career, he is credited with seizing 17,000 kg of narcotic drugs and 165 kg of gold.
