Electricity bill also reduced to less than one-third

Raipur: In Chhattisgarh, with the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, even ordinary citizens are now becoming electricity producers. By installing solar panels on the roof tops of their houses and setting up power plants, not only is the electricity problem of the people being solved, but they are also getting a good profit by selling the remaining electricity after use.

Pradeep Patel, who lives in Savitri Nagar, Raigarh, has also become one such electricity producer. Pradeep Patel has got relief from electricity bill by installing a 3 kW solar panel at his home. This panel has been installed under the Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme. In this, he has received a subsidy of Rs 78,000 from the Central Government and Rs 30,000 from the State Government, a total of one lakh eight thousand rupees.

Within just 10 days of applying, the subsidy amount was deposited in his account. Patel is producing 350-400 units of electricity every month. His average monthly consumption is 500 units, due to which he has to pay bill for only 100-150 units. Appreciating the scheme, he appealed to other citizens to take advantage of it and thanked the administration.

Self-reliance from solar energy in more than 197 houses of the district
