Suspicious death of IPS’s daughter, found unconscious in hostel room, was studying LLB

Lucknow: 19-year-old student Anika Rastogi of Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University in Lucknow has died under suspicious circumstances. Anika was a third year LLB student. She was found unconscious in her hostel room on Saturday August 31 ,evening.

When Anika’s fellow students opened the door late at night, they found her unconscious and immediately admitted her to Apollo Medics Hospital. However, the doctors there declared her dead. Anika’s father is IPS Santosh Rastogi, who is posted as IG in NIA in Delhi. Anika’s body has been sent for post-mortem and the cause of death will be known from the post-mortem report only .

On receiving information about the incident, the police have registered a case at Ashiana police station. ADCP East Pankaj Singh said that legal action will be taken after the post-mortem report comes. The police is investigating the matter and trying to clarify the circumstances of the death.
