Central government ready to build a memorial for former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh-Photo -DD News
New Delhi : The Home Ministry said that the government received a request from the Congress Party President to allocate space for the memorial of former Prime Minister late Dr. Manmohan Singh. Immediately after the cabinet meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah told Congress President Kharge and the family of late Dr. Manmohan Singh that the government will allocate space for the memorial.
The central government has decided to build a memorial in the national capital in memory of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. This information was given by the Union Home Ministry. Issuing a press release, the Home Ministry said that on Friday December 27. 2024 morning the government received a request from the Congress Party President to allocate space for the memorial of former Prime Minister late Dr. Manmohan Singh. Immediately after the cabinet meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah told Congress President Kharge and the family of late Dr. Manmohan Singh that the government will allocate space for the memorial. Meanwhile, cremation and other formalities can be completed, as a trust has to be formed and space has to be allotted for it.
Dr. Manmohan Singh, who headed the Congress-led UPA government and is known for economic reforms, died on Thursday December 26, 2024 at the age of 92. He led the country for 10 years as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014.
