The dream of Shobha Nag and Kaushalya to have a permanent house came true through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Chhattisgarh

Raipur : Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in June 2015 to build and provide permanent houses to improve the living standards of the poor. There is a provision to provide basic amenities like toilet, electricity, drinking water, clean fuel (LPG) etc. in these houses. When people actively participate in the construction of their houses and get these facilities, they develop a strong bond with their homes and feel emotionally attached to it. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has raised a new hope for many homeless families across the country. The permanent houses being provided to homeless families through this scheme have not only raised the standard of living of the people, but are also providing them a safe and permanent residence.

As per the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, efforts are being made to extend the benefits to as many eligible people as possible in Chhattisgarh. After Sai became the Chief Minister, the first thing the cabinet did was to approve 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the state and the state government is working with full commitment to implement the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the dream of Mrs. Shobha Nag, a resident of Jagdalpur Ward 30, to build a permanent house has come true. Mrs. Shobha Nag expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for this scheme and said that now her family will be able to live in a safe and comfortable permanent house. Mrs. Nag told that she distributes tiffins for livelihood, in which she earns about four thousand rupees per month. Due to low income, she was unable to build a permanent house. She had to face difficulties in a hut and was very worried about the future of her children. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban, I got the opportunity to get the benefit of the scheme and now I have my own home., she said .

Kaushalya Ram, a resident of Ambikapur Municipal Corporation area of Surguja district, never had an easy life. Her husband Late Birju Ram died twenty years ago, when they had five small children. At that time, Kaushalya did not have any income to raise herself and her children. She raised her family by working as a laborer. Her income was not enough to give a good life to her children. They were living in a hut which kept leaking water from the roof during the rainy season. Kaushalya never thought that she would also have her own permanent house. But the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana filled her life with happiness. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Kaushalya got financial assistance to build her own permanent house. She has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for making her dream of a permanent house come true.
