*Instructions given for quick resolution of pension cases

Raipur: The Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has said that the goals of Developed India @ 2047 can be realised only when the empowerment of every section of the society, especially the (Differently Abled People ) , is ensured. Chief Minister Sai said in the high-level review meeting of the Social Welfare Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan on Wednesday July 23, 2025 that the need of the hour is that 100% Divyangjans should be made skilled so that they can become self-reliant.
CM Sai instructed the officials to prepare an action plan in this direction and ensure quick implementation.
In the meeting, Chief Minister Sai gave instructions to quickly resolve the pending pension cases of the elder and Divyangjans. He said that this work should be given priority with a spirit of service, so that the eligible beneficiaries can get their rights on time. The Chief Minister clarified that negligence at any level will not be tolerated in the welfare of the elderly, Divyangjan and the destitute.
Chief Minister Sai said that the arrangements of old age homes, grant-in-aid Divyang institutions and rehabilitation centers should be organized and strengthened. Divyangjan should be made skilled according to their interest and ability and provided training in various trades under the Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme. This will enable them to connect with self-employment opportunities and play an active role in the society.

Social Welfare Minister Laxmi Rajwade said in the meeting that if the homeless, helpless, nomads, Divyang, children and women found at public places are in need of rehabilitation, then a strong arrangement should be ensured to immediately take them to rehabilitation centers. He said that while doing physical verification of various pension cases, the eligible beneficiaries should be given the benefit of pension on priority basis. Also, the departmental helpline number should be widely publicised so that more and more people can benefit from it.
Chief Minister Sai instructed to expedite the process of registration of the third gender community and to benefit them with other departmental schemes including ration card, Ayushman card. He also directed to expedite the process of UDID registration and issuing certificates from the Medical Board by organizing camps for the disabled.
The Chief Minister said that wherever deprived children, women, youth or elderly are struggling with needs like artificial limbs, crutches, hearing aids, tricycles or physiotherapy, the related equipment should be made available to them immediately. It should be the commitment of the government that no needy person should remain without support.
In the review meeting, a detailed review of the schemes of the Social Welfare Department including Artificial Limbs and Assistive Equipment Supply Scheme, Capacity Development Scheme, Disabled Marriage Promotion Scheme, National Disabled Rehabilitation Program, various pension schemes was done. The progress report of the implementation of all the schemes was presented and the future action plan was discussed.
The officials informed that in the last one year, a total of 137 Divyang special health camps have been organized across the state. Through these camps, health check-up of 7669 Divyangjans was done, out of which 6671 persons have been provided prosthetic limbs and assistive devices. This has instilled hope and confidence in their lives.
The Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister P. Dayanand and Rahul Bhagat, Social Welfare Secretary Bhuvnesh Yadav, Director Roktima Yadav and senior officers of the Social Welfare Department were present in the meeting.
