Moradabad: The headless body found on the banks of Ramganga in Katghar police station area of Moradabad was that of female head constable Rinki posted in Rampur. According to the police, the female constable was murdered on suspicion of an affair. Her husband posted in Rampur itself, along with his brother-in-law, i.e. the brother-in-law of the female constable, carried out the crime.
The police have arrested both the accused. The headless body of a woman was found on the banks of the Ramganga river in the forest of village Devapur on Thursday October 17 afternoon in Katghar police station area. On receiving the information, CO Katghar Ashish Pratap Singh and SHO Katghar Sanjay Kumar reached the spot and got the forensic team to investigate.
When the police conducted a search operation around the place where the body was found, the woman’s severed head was also found about 25 meters away from the incident spot. At that time, when the body could not be identified, the police filled a Panchnama as unidentified and sent the body for post-mortem. Along with this, along with sharing the photos of the deceased on social media for identification, the police of nearby police stations and districts were also informed. After this information, the police of Civil Lines police station of Rampur district became alert.
In fact, female constable Rinki was missing from Rampur Civil Lines area, whose missing report was also filed. After the information of the said headless body, Rampur police reached Moradabad post-mortem house with Rinki’s constable husband Sonu. Where the husband refused to identify the body after seeing it. The police got suspicious about this. Later, Rinki’s parents were called and shown the body. After which the parents identified the deceased as Rinki by looking at the Om mark on the hand and the nail of the right hand finger. In this case, Rinki’s mother Harvati Devi has given a complaint in Rampur Civil Lines police station. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered against husband Sonu and his unknown partner for murder and destruction of evidence.
Head constable Rinki was originally a resident of village Darbad in Chandpur police station area of Bijnor. Currently, she was posted in the women’s police station of Rampur. Her mother Harvati Devi gave a complaint to Rampur Civil Lines Police and told that Rinki was married to Sonu, a resident of village Raipur in Chandpur police station area of Bijnor in 2013. Sonu is also a constable in UP Police and is currently posted in the Special Intelligence Unit of Rampur district. Rinki has two sons Aarav Kumar (12 years) and Akhit Kumar (9 years).
The mother alleged that Rinki’s husband Sonu doubted her character. He used to accuse Rinki of having an illicit relationship with a policeman from the same village Darbad. He used to beat her over this. Mother Harvati claimed that Rinki had complained about this to her and the family members many times.
Harvati Devi told in her complaint that on 14th October she called and asked to talk to Rinki, then her son-in-law Sonu told her that Rinki has left the house. I am searching for her. After listening to Sonu’s words, Harvati got suspicious and on 16th October she went to her in-laws’ house in Raipur, Bijnor along with her husband Harphool Singh and second son-in-law Nahar Singh, but Rinki was not found there.
Later, it was found out from the police that the body of an unknown woman was found in Katghar area. According to the woman, after the same information, when she went to the post-mortem house and saw the body, it turned out to be Rinki’s. It was alleged that Sonu along with some accomplice killed Rinki by slitting her throat. ASP Rampur Atul Kumar Srivastava told that on the complaint of Rinki’s mother, a case of murder has been registered in Civil Lines police station.
Her husband Sonu and Sonu’s brother-in-law Brajpal alias Bunty son Samarpal have been arrested. The knife and car used in the incident have been recovered. Both are being questioned thoroughly.
After the body of the female constable was found in Moradabad, Rampur police interrogated the accused husband and his brother-in-law. On which the police came to know that the woman constable’s husband had killed Rinki due to a love affair. After which an attempt was made to float the body in the Ramganga river, but due to haste the body could not float in the river.
