Tamil Nadu : The Air India Express flight from Trichy in Tamil Nadu to Sharjah was in the air for three hours due to a technical fault. Due to the presence of mind of the pilot, the plane was made to make an emergency landing at Trichy airport. There were 141 passengers on board the plane. All the passengers are safe.
All the planes at the airport were stopped and all preparations were made for an emergency landing. Along with fire engines, a sufficient number of ambulances were also kept ready. During this time, the passengers on the plane as well as the officials and employees present at the airport held their breath. Everyone kept praying for the safe landing of the plane and it was successful.
Alternate aircraft is being arranged for the passengers
The pilot was in constant touch with the Air Traffic Control (ATC). The plane landed without any problem. An internal investigation into the incident has been initiated. Aviation regulatory body, DGCA has been informed. An Air India Express spokesperson issued a statement saying that we are sorry for the inconvenience. We reiterate our commitment to prioritize safety in every aspect of our operations. An alternate aircraft is being arranged for the journey
