Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday January 28, 2026 unveiled the Silver Jubilee Medal dedicated to the Chhattisgarh Police Force at the Police Headquarters, Naya Raipur.

Extending his best wishes to the police force, he said that this medal will be an indelible symbol of the police’s indomitable courage, valor, and sacrifice in maintaining peace and security in the state.

It is noteworthy that the awarding of the Silver Jubilee Medal to the state police force was announced on January 26, Republic Day, and this medal was unveiled today, putting the announcement into immediate effect.

Chief Minister Sai said that over the past 25 years, the Chhattisgarh Police Force has demonstrated exceptional courage and made the ultimate sacrifice in maintaining law and order and in anti-Naxal operations. He said that this medal will forever commemorate their dedication.

Chief Minister Sai said that this medal embodies the identity of Chhattisgarh’s soil, culture, and traditions. The medal will be round and silver-colored, with an embossed image of a Sal tree on the front and a Hill Myna on the back, and will be worn with a ribbon.

On the left side of the uniform, above the pocket, this medal will be placed in the order of precedence after the Ashoka Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Gallantry Medal, President’s Distinguished Service Medal, and President’s Meritorious Service Medal.

The Hill Myna depicted on the medal symbolises vigilance, communication, fearlessness, connection to local culture, and the team spirit of the police force, while the Sal tree conveys the message of strength, resilience, longevity, protection, natural balance, and impactful contribution even in silence. Like the revered Sal tree in the Bastar and Surguja regions of Chhattisgarh, this medal will honor the dedication, service, and commitment of the police force to society and will become a symbol of the glorious tradition of the Chhattisgarh Police.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Director General of Police Housing Corporation Pawan Dev, ADG SRP Kalluri, ADG Pradeep Gupta, ADG Vivekananda Sinha, ADG Dipanshu Kabra, ADG Amit Kumar, and other senior officers were present.
