The state government transferred 41 IAS officers, changed collectors of 11 districts

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government on Saturday April 19, 2025 made a major reshuffle in the administrative circles and transferred 41 IAS officers in one go. In this reshuffle, collectors of 11 districts have also been changed. Through this step, the government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Dro Sai has given priority to administrative tightening, accountability and result-based functioning.

The government has appointed two additional commissioners to resolve pending revenue matters and improve the neglected administrative system. Along with strengthening the Revenue Board, these changes are being considered a concrete initiative towards good governance.

Changes at the divisional commissioner level too

Mahadev Kavre has been removed from the additional responsibility of Bilaspur division and Sunil Kumar Jain has been appointed as the Bilaspur divisional commissioner. This is likely to increase the speed of administrative decisions and work in this area.

Responsibility of the district has been handed over again

Two officers who have successfully led the districts in the past – Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure and Janmejay Mahobe – have been given the responsibility of the districts again. Bhure has been made the collector of Rajnandgaon district, while Mahobe has been appointed the collector of Janjgir-Champa district.

Efforts to simplify the administrative structure

The government has also rationalised the workload of officers at the secretariat level, so that a department head has to report to only one secretary. This will make the decision-making process faster and clearer, and coordination in work will also improve.

Strictness on careless officers

Through this reshuffle, the government has also given a clear message that those who work with efficiency, honesty and dedication in the interest of the public will be promoted, while officers who are careless and evasive will be relieved of their responsibilities and sent to less important posts.
