During an interactive session at Delhi University’s Hansraj College, when Jaishankar was asked what Donald Trump’s second term would mean for India? In response, Jaishankar said that yes, there will be a lot of changes with Trump’s arrival. Some things may be completely different but we will have to change our foreign policy keeping in mind the country’s interest.
He said that there may be some issues where we do not agree but there will be many areas where we will be on the same platform and agree.
During this, Jaishankar, referring to coming into politics from the education sector and diplomacy, said that I never thought that I would become a bureaucrat. I came into politics suddenly, either call it fate, or call it Modi. He (Prime Minister Modi) promoted me in such a way that no one could refuse.
