‘There is a need to bring foreign policies out of syllabus…’, Foreign Minister Jaishankar found a way to coordinate with Trump

Foreign Minister Jaishankar also recently attended Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. During this, he also gave a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Trump.

Ever since US President Donald Trump took the oath of office, he has been taking rapid decisions. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has said that India will have to change its foreign policies to deal with US President Trump.

During an interactive session at Delhi University’s Hansraj College, when Jaishankar was asked what Donald Trump’s second term would mean for India? In response, Jaishankar said that yes, there will be a lot of changes with Trump’s arrival. Some things may be completely different but we will have to change our foreign policy keeping in mind the country’s interest.

He said that there may be some issues where we do not agree but there will be many areas where we will be on the same platform and agree.

During this, Jaishankar, referring to coming into politics from the education sector and diplomacy, said that I never thought that I would become a bureaucrat. I came into politics suddenly, either call it fate, or call it Modi. He (Prime Minister Modi) promoted me in such a way that no one could refuse.
Let us tell you that Foreign Minister Jaishankar also recently participated in Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. During this, he also gave a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Trump.

Regarding this, Jaishankar said that when Trump came to India the last time, he was very impressed with that visit. Our interests are also connected in many ways. Jaishankar said that Trump’s policies can bring a lot of changes in global affairs. But India’s foreign policy will remain in line with our national interests.

Let us inform you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to US President Trump on the phone on Monday January 27, 2025 This was the first conversation between the two leaders after Trump took oath as President.

During the phone call between PM Modi and President Trump, regional issues including Indo Pacific, Middle East and Europe were also discussed. Both Modi and Trump agreed that the relations between the two countries should be strengthened further.

After this conversation, PM Modi posted that it was a pleasure to talk to my dear friend President Donald Trump. Congratulated him on becoming the President of America for the second time. We are committed to mutually beneficial and long-term partnership. We will work together for the welfare of our people as well as global peace, prosperity and security.

Let us tell you that the first Quad Summit will be organized under the hosting of India at the end of this year, which will give an opportunity to further strengthen the Indo-Pacific Quad Partnership.
