Uttarakhand Badrinath Avalanche News Live: Rescue operation is going on since morning to rescue the workers trapped in a massive avalanche near Mana in Chamoli, a border district located on the India-China border on Friday. There is a possibility of rain in many districts of the state even today. At the same time, the danger of avalanche remains in Chamoli.

Chief Minister Dhami reached Joshimath

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Joshimath Army Helipad. Here he inquired about the condition of the injured brought there. Keeping in mind the rescue operation of the avalanche in Mana, today GOC in C Central Command, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, GOC North India Area and [DGBR are going to reach Mana. If the weather is favorable, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, GOC in C Central Command, will brief the media on site.

Another laborer brought to Jyotirmath

Another injured laborer trapped in the snow has been brought to Jyotirmath. Now the search for eight laborers is going on. Since morning, ten laborers have been rescued by the soldiers. 47 laborers have been rescued.

Three teams deployed for high altitude rescue

In view of the avalanche in Mana, Chamoli, an alert was issued from the SDRF headquarters Jolly Grant and three high altitude rescue teams were deployed in Jolly Grant, Sahasradhara and Gochar. As soon as the weather cleared, the teams flew with rescue equipment by helicopter. Two teams of eight people each have been deployed in Gochar and Sahasradhara and a team of ten people of the battalion have been deployed in Jolly Grant headquarters. These teams have been deployed with satellite phones and equipment necessary for rescue in the snow. At the same time, an alert was issued in the SDRF. If the injured are brought to AIIMS Rishikesh, then the Dhalwala team has been kept on alert for this. Director General of Police Ridhim Aggarwal said that three teams were deployed with necessary equipment for high altitude rescue. When the weather improved, the teams left for the spot. Skilled soldiers have been sent in the team.

Rescue operation is going on in Mana as soon as the weather opens to safely rescue the workers trapped in the white desert. No casualties have been reported so far. It is expected that the rest of the trapped workers will also be evacuated safely. According to the information received from the spot, the rest of the workers are in a container, which is completely covered with snow.

CM Dhami spoke to PM Modi over the phone

Prime Minister Modi spoke to CM Dhami over the phone and inquired about the rescue operation being carried out to safely evacuate the workers trapped in Mana in Chamoli district. He also took detailed information about the situation of rain and snowfall in the state. During this, the Prime Minister assured to provide all possible assistance from the Central Government to deal with any emergency.

Chief Minister can go to ground zero
If the weather remains favorable, then Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami can also go to ground zero on Saturday and take stock of the situation. Chief Minister Dhami has given instructions to include Air Force helicopters as well as UCADA helicopters in the rescue operation on Saturday March 1, 2025 morning for heli rescue. The CM said that relief and rescue operations will be conducted on a war footing on Saturday morning and will do whatever possible for the safe return of every worker.

Rescue operation is going on since Saturday morning to search for the workers trapped in a massive avalanche near Mana Camp in the India-China (Tibet) border area in Uttarakhand on Friday. 47 workers trapped in the snow have been rescued. Now the search for eight is on. PM Modi also spoke to CM Dhami and learned about the situation.

Sub-district magistrate Chandrashekhar Vashishth said that as soon as the weather cleared, rescue operations were started in Mana. The first helicopter left from Jyotirmath with some soldiers. According to the information received so far, the Indian Army has rescued 14 more people in the morning. Some have suffered serious injuries, who are undergoing treatment.

Amid snowfall in the high altitude areas of Uttarakhand, a massive avalanche occurred near Mana Camp in the India-China (Tibet) border area on Friday. During this, 55 workers engaged in construction work there got buried in the snow. By 5 pm on Friday February 28, 2025 , 33 workers were safely rescued by the Army and ITBP personnel, while 22 workers could not be traced. They were searched till late evening, but after that the rescue operation had to be stopped due to heavy snowfall and eight feet of snow in the area. The rescue operation has been started again on Saturday morning after the weather cleared.
