Mithun Chakraborty has taken a big dig at Mamata government. Regarding Murshidabad violence, he said that Mamata only wants power. No matter how she gets it. For this, she is doing politics of appeasement.
West Bengal : BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty has launched a major attack on the Mamta Banerjee government over the violence in Murshidabad, West Bengal. He said that Mamta Banerjee only wants power. No matter how she gets it. For this, she is doing the politics of appeasement. He said that the day Madam (Mamata Banerjee) decides to stop all this (violence), everything will end in a day. But she does not want to do it. She has to keep it alive.
Mithun Chakraborty said that Mamata Banerjee is misleading Muslims regarding the Waqf law. She promises that she will not let it be implemented in Bengal. She will not let the law of the House be implemented in Bengal? Is she above the President? She is the CM of only one state out of the 28 states of the country.
On the violence in Murshidabad, BJP leader Chakraborty said,
There are a few Hindu people there. What have they done? Today they have become homeless. They are forced to eat Khichdi in relief camps. What is their fault?
Mithun said,
What have those poor people done? Today they are eating Khichdi in the relief camps. They are not the ones who live in a palace but they consider their mansion as a palace. They are eating Khichdi in the camps. We have brought this time. Waqf is just an excuse. There is some other agenda behind it.
He said, ‘I am warning you. If there are 8 percent Hindus. Don’t be afraid. Vote. If BJP comes to power, all this will end. You can see the BJP ruled states. Is something like this happening there? We do not do this politics at all.
When asked about his old relations with Mamata Banerjee, Mithun said,
The Mamata Banerjee I knew was someone else. Straight forward. One who would work for the people. She was someone else. But she has got power. Now she wants power by any means. That is why she is appeasing.
He said that the Hindu supporters in TMC should not think that they are safe. If this war breaks out completely so you are also not safe. Accusing the Bengal Police, Chakraborty said that the police here come to watch the function during riots. When there is a riot, they take chairs and sit down. They come to watch the function. They do not come to work.
