The Home Minister said, ‘This time the women of Bengal will explain the importance of sindoor to Mamata Didi.’ He appealed to the BJP workers to go among the people and convey the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, ‘The election of 2026 is not just an election of Bengal, but of national security. Mamata government has kept the border open and has given a free hand to the intruders.’

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday June 1, 2025 launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) at the BJP’s ‘Vijay Sankalp Karyakarta Sammelan’ held in Kolkata. Amit Shah started his address by paying obeisance to Kali Mata at Kalighat and Dakshineshwar and after this he fiercely targeted the Mamata government.

Amit Shah said, ‘First the Communists and then the TMC made Bengal a bastion of crime, corruption and violence against women. Bengal was made a haven for illegal intruders. Now Mamata Didi’s time is over. In the 2026 elections, BJP will form the government in Bengal.’

‘Mamata does the politics of appeasement’

Referring to the Pahalgam terror attack, Amit Shah said, ‘Was it not right that those who killed tourists after asking their religion should be given an answer?’ He said that Mamata did not like Operation Sindoor because she does the politics of appeasement. He also alleged that Mamata did not openly oppose Operation Sindoor, but definitely played with the sentiments of the women of the country.

‘Jobs are being sold openly in Bengal’

Amit Shah also alleged that the central government sought land from the state to fence the Bangladesh border, but the Mamata government stopped it due to fear of vote bank. Amit Shah said, ‘Government jobs are being sold openly in West Bengal. This trend should stop now.’ He promised that after the formation of BJP government in 2026, the BJP workers who have been tortured during the Mamata government will get justice.

Shah said that in the last assembly elections, BJP had secured 40% votes. Now we just have to add a few more percent of votes, and we will form the government. Finally he said, ‘Prime Minister Modi has worked for the development and culture of West Bengal. If anyone challenges, then BJP knows how to answer ‘Gola se Goli’.
