Mann Ki Baat-Who is Nabam Bapu and Likha Nana, whose 3-D printing technology impressed PM Modi

New Delhi: PM Modi mentioned many issues related to the country in the Mann Ki Baat program today . He also praised the 3-D printing technology of the youth of Arunachal Pradesh. The PM said, “Our youth of Arunachal Pradesh are also second to none in their love for animals. Some of our youth-friends in Arunachal have started using 3-D printing technology. Do you know why? Because, they want to save wild animals from being hunted for horns and teeth.”

He said that this team, under the leadership of Nabam Bapu and Likha Nana, does 3-D printing of different parts of animals. Be it the horns or teeth of animals, all these are prepared through 3-D printing. Then things like dresses and hats are made from this.

This is an amazing option, in which bio-degradable material is used. Any amount of praise for such wonderful efforts is less. He also mentioned the ‘Hoolock Gibbon’ living in Barekuri village of Tinsukia district of Assam. PM Modi said during the program, “You must have seen many films on the love between humans and animals. But, a real story is being made in Assam these days. People of the Moran community live in Barekuri, a small village in Tinsukia district of Assam. And this is where the ‘Hoolock Gibbon’ lives, which is called ‘Holo Bandar’ here. Hoolock Gibbon has made its home in this village.

PM Modi also said about the friendship between man and animal, “You will be surprised to know that the people of this village have a very deep relationship with the Hoolock Gibbon. The people of the village still follow their traditional values. Therefore, they did all those things, which would strengthen their relationship with the gibbons.

When they realised that the gibbons like bananas very much, they also started cultivating bananas.” PM said that they decided to fulfill the customs related to the birth and death of the gibbons in the same way as they do for their people. They have also given names to the gibbons. Recently, the gibbons were facing difficulties due to the electricity wires passing nearby. In such a situation, the people of this village put this matter in front of the government and soon a solution was also found. I have been told that now these gibbons also pose for photographs.
