“Women are the foundation of power, creativity, and culture,”- Shatabdi Pandey

Raipur (Pragati College ): On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, a program was organised at Pragati Mahavidyalaya, Choubey Colony Raipur, the capital of the state.

Shatabdi Pandey, former Chairperson of the Child Rights Protection Commission of Chhattisgarh, and spokesperson, was present as the chief guest and keynote speaker.

The program commenced with Saraswati Puja and the lighting of lamps. Addressing the students, Shatabdi Pandey stated that the women’s empowerment, accentuate the need to develop many positive qualities within women, such as equality, self-reliance, harmony, honesty, self-confidence, and a sense of duty, Pandey added.

She further emphasised that women are the foundation of a golden India, full of vibrant and radiant qualities. She stressed the importance of contributing to the advancement of daughters and women in society.

Following this, Principal Dr. Soumya Nayyar in her address said that women are the embodiment of love, sacrifice, and tolerance; they are the center of the family. Therefore, their thinking must be strong, only then will their families become strong. Women should focus on their existence and set goals and continue to achieve them, Principal added.

The program was conducted by Chinmayi Das, and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Gunjan Sharma.

Present on this occasion were Head of the Education Department Dr. K.N. Gajpal, Administrator Miss Jyoti Thakur, all the professors and students of the Education Department.
