According to the information, an IED blast took place near the LoC in Keri Battal area under Khour police station of Jammu district at around 3:30 pm on Tuesday. Three soldiers were injured in this, who were admitted to the Army Hospital. Out of these, 2 died during treatment, while the condition of one is said to be critical.
According to officials, the army team was patrolling near the Line of Control in Akhnoor sector. During this time, terrorists carried out an IED blast. Three soldiers were hit by it. As soon as the information was received, additional army forces reached the spot and after taking the injured soldiers to the hospital, a search operation was conducted for the terrorists.
Initial information has revealed that the explosion was caused by the explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED), which is believed to have been planted by suspected terrorists. Officials said that immediately after the explosion, the entire area was cordoned off.
Let us inform you that a day before this, on Monday February 10 ,2025 an army soldier was seriously injured in firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district. The soldier was posted at the forward post in the Kalaal area of Naushera sector, when he was shot and was immediately taken to the military hospital. Initial information revealed that the firing came from across the Line of Control at around 2.40 pm.
Earlier on February 8, terrorists opened fire on an army patrol from a forest across the Line of Control in Keri sector, who were looking for an opportunity to enter this side. Indian soldiers also fired a few rounds in retaliation and after this the anti-infiltration grid was strengthened to keep a close watch in the area.
A cache of weapons was found near LoC
Security forces on Monday February 10, 2025 recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition during a search operation in the Karnah area near the Line of Control in Kupwara district. Officials said that a joint team of army and police launched a search operation in Badi Mohalla Amrohi of Karnah tehsil after receiving information about the presence of arms and ammunition in the area. During the search operation, security forces recovered one AK 47 rifle, one AK magazine, one Saiga MK rifle, one Saiga MK magazine and 12 rounds.
