New Delhi : In the Delhi Assembly elections, the fate of the three major parties Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress has been locked in EVMs. But before that, Maulana Sajid Rashidi, President of All India Imam Association has given a big statement about BJP.
Maulana Sajid Rashidi has said that he has voted for BJP in Delhi elections. Rashidi said that I have voted for BJP for the first time in my life. By voting for BJP, I have tried to break the perception that Muslims do not vote for BJP.
He said that I want to hug Modi ji once. I want to hug him in the same way as he hugged the President of United Arab Emirates (UAE). I want Modiji to embrace me. BJP should also embrace Muslims with a true heart.
He said that I am not saying that we should vote unitedly. I am saying that we need to break the perception that Muslims vote to defeat BJP. BJP is not untouchable for us and neither are we bonded labourers of Congress or Samajwadi Party. Rashidi said that what did Kejriwal do for Muslims regarding Delhi riots?
What did Congress do for us? Rahul Gandhi went to Mustafabad during Delhi riots but he did not go to Tahir Hussain’s house. Kejriwal targeted Tablighi Jamaat and held Tablighi responsible during Covid. He said that all political parties treat Muslims in the same way. It is not that Congress did too much for Muslims. When we vote for a party, we expect that party to protect our rights. He said that I am not the only one who has voted for BJP. Muslims have also voted for BJP. I just want that there is no need to be afraid of BJP. They cannot throw us out of this country.
