When the selectors sent the team to Naqvi for the second time, he sent it back and asked them to be sure about their decisions.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi had asked the national selectors to review the team selected for the Champions Trophy at least twice before giving final approval. Pakistan lost to New Zealand by 60 runs in its first match. Its next match will be against India on Sunday, which will be a do or die match. If Pakistan’s team loses, then there will be a danger of being eliminated from the tournament.

A reliable source in PCB claimed

A reliable source in PCB claimed to news agency PTI, ‘When the selectors finalized the team for the Champions Trophy and sent it to Naqvi for approval, he sent it back and asked the selectors to review the team again to ensure that the best players are selected.’

Naqvi agreed in the third attempt

According to the source, when the selectors sent the team to Naqvi for the second time, he sent it back and asked him to be sure about his decisions. The source said, ‘He approved the 15-member team for the third time, but made it clear to the selectors and team management that he is fully responsible for it.’

Naqvi does not trust his selectors?

The national selection committee includes the team’s interim head coach Aaqib Javed, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Aleem Dar and Hasan Cheema. According to the report, Naqvi did not trust his selectors. His concern about the team reflects this. Anyway, Pakistan is facing criticism after the defeat against New Zealand. New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 60 runs in the first match.

Pakistan team is being criticized

Pakistan team is currently at the bottom of the Group-A points table at fourth place. Many legends including Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Basit Ali are raising questions on the playing style of the Pakistan team. While chasing the target of 321 runs against the Kiwis, Pakistan’s team was able to score only 22 runs in 10 overs. Pakistan’s team was all out for 260 runs.
