Varanasi: Allahabad High Court has given relief to two accused in the gang rape case of a B.Tech student in IIT-BHU. Both the accused have been granted conditional bail by the court. Whereas the bail plea of one accused has been rejected. All the three accused were associated with the BJP IT cell. Also, they had contacts with senior BJP leaders.
Let us inform you that 60 days after the gangrape of a B.Tech student of IIT-BHU, they were arrested from Lanka area in December 2023. All three accused were lodged in the district jail on judicial remand. They were kept in the barrack of the accused involved in heinous crimes. Now the High Court has granted bail to Kunal Pandey and Anand alias Abhishek Chauhan. At the same time, Saksham Patel’s bail was rejected.
In fact, Varanasi police had filed a charge sheet for gang rape on January 17. Lanka police had imposed gangster charges on all three accused. After the gangster case was registered, their bail plea was continuously getting rejected. Police had told the court that all three are professional criminals and they should not be allowed to go among the public.
