It is worth mentioning that during the last NCC Day celebrations, Chief Minister Sai had expressed his desire to start NCC Air Wing Squadron in other airstrip cities of the state like Raipur. Till now, Air Wing NCC and flying training is given only in Raipur in Chhattisgarh, whereas airstrips are also available in places like Jagdalpur, Bilaspur, Ambikapur and Jashpur.

On the initiative of the Chief Minister, in March, Aagadih airstrip of Jashpur was approved for 3 CG Air NCC Squadron and a microlight aircraft was sent to Jashpur for training. During this, about 100 cadets were given real flying experience. Chief Minister Sai himself reached the airstrip and inspected the training program and interacted with the cadets. The cadets also shared technical information related to the aircraft with CM .

Better employment opportunities for trained cadets

At present, 3 CG NCC Air Wing Squadron is the only air squadron in the whole country in which AIIMS, MBBS and Nursing students are associated as cadets. Cadets get 25 vacancies/courses in the Army through UPSC and SSB interviews, 50 vacancies/courses for Officers Training Academy through SSC in which UPSC examination is not required and selection opportunities are available only through SSB interview. 20 seats are reserved for girls.

There are 10 percent vacancies in all courses including Air Force flight training . For which AFCAT, UPSC examination is not required. Similarly, 2 to 10 bonus marks are given in paramilitary force recruitment. In many industries also, preference is given in jobs on the basis of NCC C certificates.
