Raipur: In Chhattisgarh, the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojna (“Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme” )has become nothing short of a lifeline for families who once believed that advanced medical treatment was beyond their reach. The scheme has once again proven its worth – this time by giving a new lease of life to 48-year-old farmer Ganesh Ram Yadav from Bagicha in Jashpur district.

Both of Ganesh Ram’s kidneys had failed. For months, he survived on dialysis as his condition steadily worsened. Doctors advised a kidney transplant — but the cost shattered the family’s hopes. For a small farming household, such an expense was unimaginable. Each day, the family watched helplessly as their faith in life began to fade.

Amid this despair, they learned about the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojna (“Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme”) through the Kunkuri Sadan centre. Acting rapidly , the family gathered the required documents, and thanks to the scheme’s simplified process, Ganesh Ram’s entire treatment was approved — completely free of cost.

He was admitted to AIIMS, Raipur, where a team of expert doctors performed the transplant. In a deeply moving act of love, his 64-year-old mother, Saraswati Yadav, donated one of her kidneys to save her son — giving him life for the second time. The surgery was successful, and today Ganesh Ram has fully recovered. Returning home, his family’s joy knows no bounds.

After regaining his health, Ganesh Ram, accompanied by his family, met Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his official residence in Raipur. Their eyes were filled with gratitude and emotion. “If this scheme didn’t exist,” said Ganesh Ram, “I might not be alive today. The government has restored our hope and given us back our lives.”

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai held an affectionate interaction with the family and extended his best wishes for their bright and healthy future. He said, “Every citizen of the state deserves access to quality healthcare. Our government is committed to ensuring that no one is deprived of treatment due to financial hardship — this, in the truest sense, is what public service means.”

Under the compassionate leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swaasthya Sahayata Yojna (“Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme”)continues to redefine healthcare in Chhattisgarh — not merely as an administrative initiative, but as a living testament to human dignity, empathy, and hope.
