Raipur: The 60th All India Conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police began on Friday November 28, 2025 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Nava Raipur.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the three-day conference . National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Directors General of Police of states and union territories, and heads of central police organisations are participating in the conference.
The head of the Home Department and a select group of police officers of the DIG and Superintendent of Police levels are also participating .
Prime Minister Narendra Modi to preside over the conference on Saturday November 29, 2025 .
The Prime Minister arrived in Raipur late this evening and will participate in various sessions of the conference on November 29 to 30, 2025 .
During the conference, Prime Minister Modi will present the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. This year, the theme of the conference is “Developed India: Security Dimensions.” The objective of the conference is to review progress made in addressing key challenges facing the police and to develop a roadmap for building a secure India, in line with the national vision of a developed India.
The conference is discussing issues such as left-wing extremism, counter-terrorism, disaster management, women’s safety, and the use of forensic science and AI in policing.
On the first day of the conference, Union Home Minister Amit Shah honored the three best police stations in the country.
This year, Ghazipur Police Station, Delhi, won first place. Pahargaon Police Station in Andaman, Karnataka, won second place, and Kavita, Raichur Police Station in Karnataka, won third place.
Police stations competed in various categories, and the top ten police stations were selected from 70 police stations. Ghazipur Police Station Officer U. Bala Shankaran explained that the awards were based on 70 different categories. These categories included measures such as how to interact with people inside and outside the police station, cleanliness within the premises , public relations, case resolution, and pendency of crimes. t is worg mentioning that since 2014, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the format of this conference has continuously evolved, including its holding at various locations across the country.
The conference has been held in Guwahati (Assam), Rann of Kutch (Gujarat), Hyderabad (Telangana), Tekanpur-Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Statue of Unity (Kevadia) (Gujarat), Pune (Maharashtra), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), New Delhi, Jaipur (Rajasthan), and Bhubaneswar (Odisha).
