Pragati College , Choubey Colony , Raipur Organises a Educational Tour to Murmura Village and a Public Awareness Program

The Education Department of Pragati College, Chaube Colony, Raipur, organised a one-day educational trip, public awareness program, and village survey on Saturday December 13, 2025, in Murmura village, Gariaband district.

As part of this program, B.Ed., D.L.Ed., and M.Ed. students presented street plays on topics such as ‘cleanliness’, ‘drug de-addiction’, ‘the importance of education’, and ‘dowry system’ at the Government Primary and Secondary School in Murmura village. Following this, a drawing competition was organised for the school children on the same topics, and prizes were distributed to the children with the best entries.

Students from the secondary school also presented poems and songs. The school’s headmaster presented a memento to Pragati College. In the second phase of the public awareness program, the education students tried to convey their message to the rural community through slogans and awareness campaigns.

After the community program, the students enjoyed the beauty of the Jharjhara Waterfall and visited a local temple. Murmura village is a beautiful and picturesque place surrounded by forests and hills.

Present on this occasion were the college principal, Dr. Soumya Nayyar, Head of the Education Department, Dr. K.N. Gajpal, Administrator Jyoti Thakur, all the faculty members including Dr. Gunjan Sharma, Muneshwar Yadav, Upasana Srivastava, Chinmayi Das, Pooja Sahu, and the students.

Besides Headmaster of the government school, Lukeshwar Singh Sahu, Markam, and all the teachers, staff, and students of the school were also present on the occasion .
