Raipur : Acting on the instruction of Director Rajat Bansal (IAS) a surprise inspection got carried out by a joint team comprising the Central Mining Flying Squad and the district-level officials in the KY River ( Dandahswahi), Pasauri, Kutra, and the Hasdeo River in the Kelhari Tehsil of District MCB at night of June 21, 2026 .

During the operation, a thorough check was conducted on two sites holding sanctioned temporary storage licenses.

The quantity of sand present at the sites was measured using drone surveys.

Upon detecting violations at the storage sites, show-cause notices were issued to the respective sand storage operators, directing them to submit a response within three days.

In accordance with the directives, remote areas and locations prone to illegal sand mining across various districts of the state are being identified and monitored using high-tech drone surveys to ensure effective control over illegal sand mining and storage activities.

The joint inspection team of the Central Flying Squad and the district-level officials participated in the inspection.
