Focus on Women, Youth and Sustainable Livelihoods
Beyond wage employment, the mission seeks to strengthen rural livelihoods through skill development, financial inclusion and livelihood-based activities. The government expects the initiative to generate new opportunities for women, young people and rural entrepreneurs by encouraging self-employment and locally driven economic activities.
Officials said the programme would contribute to building self-reliant villages by creating sustainable sources of income while reducing migration in search of employment.
A Major Step Towards Rural Development
The programme was formally inaugurated by District Panchayat Chairperson Mangamma Soyam, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the launch of the initiative.
Among those present were District Panchayat Vice-Chairperson Mahesh Kumar Kunjam, District Panchayat Member Korsa Sannu, public representative Dhaniram Barse, along with other elected representatives and officials.
Speakers described the scheme as an important initiative for rural development, economic empowerment and social security, highlighting its potential to improve the quality of life in remote and tribal regions.
Live Telecast of Union Minister’s Address
The event also featured a live broadcast of the address by the Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, who spoke about the vital role of rural India in achieving the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). The address highlighted employment generation, livelihood enhancement and community participation as key pillars of inclusive national development.
Boost to the Rural Economy
The district administration expressed confidence that effective implementation of the scheme would create new employment opportunities across Sukma, increase household incomes and strengthen the local rural economy.
Officials believe the initiative will play a key role in promoting sustainable development, empowering rural communities and advancing the vision of self-reliant villages while contributing to India’s broader goal of becoming a developed nation.
