Raipur: Extending support to families affected by recent floods in Chhattisgarh, Forest and Climate Change Minister Kedar Kashyap on Saturday visited Palaki village in Narayanpur district, where he interacted with flood-hit residents, distributed relief assistance and reviewed the ground situation.

During the visit, the Minister met affected families, listened to their concerns and assured them that the state government would stand firmly with them until normalcy is restored.

“Providing immediate relief to people affected by natural disasters is the State Government’s highest priority. Every effort is being made to ensure that assistance reaches every deserving family without delay,” Kashyap said while interacting with villagers.

Relief Material and Financial Assistance Distributed

As part of the relief drive, the Minister distributed financial assistance cheques, blankets, and other essential relief materials to flood-affected households.

He said the district administration is closely monitoring the situation and ensuring that relief supplies, food items and emergency assistance reach every affected village in time.

Officials accompanying the Minister briefed him on the ongoing relief operations and the measures being taken to address the immediate needs of displaced families.

Government Focused on Faster Rehabilitation

Kashyap said the State Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, is committed not only to immediate relief but also to the speedy rehabilitation of affected communities.

“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the government stands with every flood-affected family with complete sensitivity. Our priority is to accelerate relief and rehabilitation so that normal life is restored at the earliest,” he said.

He instructed officials to ensure there is no negligence in relief operations and directed them to maintain uninterrupted supplies of food grains, drinking water, healthcare services and other essential facilities in the affected areas.

The Minister also asked officials to identify families requiring additional support and extend assistance on a priority basis.

Government Stands with Every Affected Family

Interacting with villagers, Kashyap reiterated that the government would continue extending all possible assistance until rehabilitation is complete.

“In this hour of crisis, the government stands firmly with every affected family. It is our responsibility to ensure that every needy person receives timely relief and assistance,” he assured.

Residents also shared their concerns regarding damaged homes, household belongings and agricultural losses, while officials assured them that damage assessment and compensation procedures were underway.

The visit formed part of the State Government’s continuing efforts to monitor relief work at the ground level and ensure that flood-affected communities receive immediate assistance and long-term support.
