Thumbay Media, the media and publishing arm of Thumbay Group, has launched Gulf Education, a new print and digital magazine focusing on the rapidly changing education landscape across the Gulf.
The launch expands the company’s publishing portfolio to five titles and comes as education systems across the region respond to artificial intelligence, technological innovation, changing workforce requirements, new teaching methods and increased investment in educational infrastructure.
Rather than concentrating solely on institutional developments, Gulf Education has been conceived as a platform bringing together the wider education community — from schools, universities and nurseries to teachers, students, parents, education leaders and policymakers.
Its editorial coverage will include classroom innovation, higher education, future skills, technology, student life and international developments with relevance to the Gulf.
“The Gulf region has one of the most dynamic and ambitious education sectors in the world, and we felt there was a need for a fresh voice that could bring together the many stories, ideas and developments shaping education today,” said Dr Thumbay Moideen, Founder and President of Thumbay Group.
He said the objective is to build a publication that remains informative and forward-looking while being relevant to educators, students, parents and institutions.
From Health Publishing to a Multi-Sector Portfolio
The launch also reflects Thumbay Media’s gradual transformation from a health-focused publisher into a broader media platform serving specialist and consumer sectors.
Its portfolio includes the long-running Health Magazine, lifestyle publication Living Gulf and the newly launched Gulf Education. Two further publications — Gulf Pets & Vets, covering veterinary medicine, animal health and pet care, and Gulf Culinary & Hospitality, focusing on food, restaurants, hotels and hospitality — are expected to join the portfolio.
“Thumbay Media has grown from a single health publication into a rapidly expanding media company. The launch of Gulf Education reflects our commitment to building publications that serve important sectors and communities across the Gulf,” Dr Moideen said.
The education magazine itself has been structured around several areas of reader interest. Classroom will examine teaching and learning; Home will focus on families, parenting and student wellbeing; Future will explore skills and careers towards 2030 and beyond; Campus will cover universities and higher education; while World will place international education developments in a Gulf context.
The publication will be distributed through print and digital formats and supported by online and social-media platforms.
Thumbay Media is simultaneously broadening its operations beyond publishing, with services covering branding, public relations, social-media strategy, events, graduation ceremonies and awards programmes.
The company said the expanding portfolio is intended to provide dedicated platforms through which institutions, organisations and communities across the Gulf can communicate their work and ideas.
With education increasingly intersecting with artificial intelligence, employment and changing skills requirements, Gulf Education enters a sector whose significance extends well beyond the classroom — particularly in Gulf economies seeking to prepare younger generations for rapidly evolving labour markets.
