Born in the year 1971, Tabu’s real name is Tabassum Fatima Hashmi. She was brought up in Hyderabad. Her mother raised Tabu as a single mother. Her parents got divorced when Tabu was 3 years old. Her mother was a school teacher. After doing her primary education at St. Ann’s High School, Tabu shifted to Mumbai. Tabu, who has spread her acting skills on screen, started her career as a child artist. She started acting at the age of just 10. ‘Bazaar’, released in 1982, was Tabu’s first film in which she played a small role. Then she appeared as a child artist in Dev Anand’s film ‘Hum Naujawan’.
