Raipur: Today is the day of results for Raipur City South Assembly seat. Counting of votes is going on in Government Engineering College Sejbahar. Counting of votes started at 8 am. First of all, postal ballots were counted. After counting of postal ballots, the process of counting votes of EVM machines will continue till the results are declared.
So far 14 rounds of counting have been completed, BJP candidate Sunil Soni has come close to victory. There is a festive atmosphere in Raipur BJP office, election in-charge Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Shivratan Sharma, Sunil Soni and many BJP officials are present. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai will soon reach Ekatma campus.

How many rounds of counting?: Counting of votes in the by-election of Raipur South Assembly seat will be completed in a total of 19 rounds. Counting is being done on a total of 14 tables for the counting work. Apart from this, a separate counter was set up for counting postal ballots. First the postal ballots were counted on this table, after that the counting of votes recorded in EVMs will be done.
Counting arrangements: Two assistant returning officers have been appointed to conduct the counting work. Apart from this, 4 additional assistant returning officers have also been appointed. Counting supervisors have been appointed on each of the 14 tables set up at the counting center. Apart from this, counting assistants and micro observers have been deployed. All of them are engaged in the counting of votes. Tight security arrangements have been made for the counting work. Security forces personnel have been deployed.
