Jaipur: Several vehicles including a truck and a bus caught fire in a horrific accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer national highway in Rajasthan on Friday morning. So far at least five people have died and about 40 others have been injured in this horrific accident and fire. Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph said that five people have died. Earlier, Jaipur District Magistrate Jitendra Soni had said that at least four deaths have been confirmed in the accident. The accident took place on the Jaipur-Ajmer national highway near Bhankrota when a truck loaded with gas collided with other trucks.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma reached the hospital
Officials said that the injured were taken to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital. According to a doctor, more than 24 people injured in the fire have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). On receiving information about the accident, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also reached the hospital and gave necessary instructions to the officials.

CM gave instructions to provide all possible help
The Chief Minister said on ‘X’, ‘My heart is deeply saddened to hear the sad news of casualties in the gas tanker fire incident on Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. As soon as I got the information about the incident, I went to SMS Hospital and instructed the doctors to provide necessary medical facilities immediately and take proper care of the injured.’
He said that I pray to God to give place to the departed souls in his supreme abode, strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense sorrow and speedy recovery to the injured.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of State for Home also on the spot
Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar also reached SMS Hospital. Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa and Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham reached the spot. Bairwa said that four to five people died and 39 people are admitted in the hospital

The fire engulfed many trucks
Earlier, Bhankrota police station in-charge Manish Gupta said that the fire engulfed many trucks. The number of trucks is not clear yet. Many people have suffered burn injuries, who have been taken to the hospital through ambulance. He said that this incident happened in front of the petrol pump and fire engines are present on the spot and are trying to control the fire. As a precaution, traffic has been stopped on the national highway.
