New Delhi : Two days after getting bail from the Supreme Court in the excise policy scam case, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced his resignation. Kejriwal will resign from the post of Chief Minister after two days. The Delhi CM said that he will not remain the CM until the next elections. At the same time, brainstorming has started in AAP regarding the next CM of Delhi. Atishi Marlena’s name is at the forefront as the Chief Minister of Delhi. Atishi is currently the Education and Water Resources Minister in the Kejriwal government.
When big leaders like Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia were in jail, Atishi raised the voice of the party on every front. She also stood with Kejriwal’s wife on every platform. She is one of those leaders on whom Kejriwal trusts the most
While announcing his decision to step down from the CM post, Kejriwal also said, I have been accused of corruption. In the same case in which Kejriwal is accused, his close aide Sisodia has also been in jail. In such a situation, it is more likely that he may give the responsibility of the CM post to Atishi. If he does not do this and puts forward Sisodia’s name, then BJP will get a chance to attack Kejriwal, which Kejriwal is not going to give under any circumstances.
Kejriwal’s coming out of jail and then suddenly resigning cannot be a mere coincidence. Political experts say that Kejriwal has made this announcement as part of a well thought out strategy. Through his well-known emotional political approach, he wants to win over the public. In such a situation, by giving the responsibility of the CM post to Atishi, he can launch more sharp attacks on BJP. There can be two more reasons behind his decision.
These are the two reasons for Atishi’s strong claim
Atishi has the responsibility of 14 departments in the Kejriwal government, which is the highest number currently held by any minister in the Delhi government. This includes major ministries like Finance, Education and Public Works Department. This shows how big a role she has in the Kejriwal-led government.
