New Delhi: The Chief Minister will be sworn in on Saturday September 21 in Delhi. Nominated Chief Minister Atishi will take oath as CM at around 4:30 pm, according to sources, 5 ministers will also take oath with her. Atishi’s cabinet will include Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat.
After Kejriwal’s announcement of resignation, a meeting of the legislative party was held in which Atishi’s name was approved. Atishi was a cabinet minister in the previous Kejriwal government. Now on Saturday September 21 , Atishi will take oath as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Atishi is considered to be Kejriwal’s ally and confidant. She has been with Kejriwal since the time of Anna movement. She also had the maximum number of ministries in the government and since Kejriwal went to jail, she has been vocal on most of the issues related to the party and the government.
Atishi was elected MLA for the first time in the 2020 assembly elections of Delhi. After this, in 2023, Kejriwal included her in his cabinet. In the 2020 elections, the party fielded her from Kalkaji assembly seat in Delhi. She defeated BJP candidate Dharamvir Singh on this seat. Atishi will be the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Earlier, late and veteran BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, Congress’s Sheila Dixit have been the Chief Minister of Delhi. Sushma Swaraj’s tenure was very short while Sheila Dixit was the Chief Minister of Delhi for 15 years. Now Atishi is going to get the command of Delhi.
