CM Sai inaugurating Development works in Bastar while BJP State President Kiran Sing Deo and other look on-Photo -DPR
Raipur: The original identity of Bastar has been its beautiful natural surroundings, rich tribal culture and peaceful environment. We have done a great job of giving back the original identity of Bastar in one year. Today Bastar is being praised not only in India but all over the world. The United Nations Tourism Organization has included village Dhudmaras among the 20 best tourist villages in the world. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing the inauguration-foundation stone laying program of development works organized at PG College Hostel Ground in Jagdalpur today on Thursday Jamuaaaary2, 2025 . On this occasion, he inaugurated 288 development works costing Rs 356 crore 44 lakh and did Bhoomi Pujan and distributed cheques and materials worth more than Rs 1 crore 55 lakh to the beneficiaries under various schemes.
Chief Minister Sai said that the state government is working with full commitment for the development and progress of Bastar region. All basic facilities and resources are being provided keeping in mind the needs of Bastar region. We want to develop Bastar with confidence, in which we are getting success. We are fulfilling every promise that we had made to the people of Chhattisgarh as Modi’s guarantee. Within a year of forming the government, we have fulfilled most of Modi’s guarantees.
Chief Minister Sai said that on the request made by our government to the Central Government to provide housing to the people of the sensitive areas of Bastar, 15 thousand Pradhan Mantri Awas have also been approved separately for these areas.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Modi had given a guarantee of approval of 18 lakh PM Awas, fulfilling which, on the second day of the oath of our government, we approved housing to the homeless beneficiaries. The approved PM houses are now being built and the beneficiary families are also getting griha pravesh. He said that on 07 January, the country’s Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan is coming to Chhattisgarh, on this day also the homeless beneficiaries in the state will be benefited. He said that we started the Niyyad Nellanar scheme for the development of Naxal-affected and backward areas, under which we are rapidly ensuring the development of basic facilities under 53 welfare schemes of 17 departments of the government and 28 community facilities in the villages located within a radius of 5 km of the security camps.
The Chief Minister said that we have also implemented the National Education Policy, today education is being imparted in 18 local languages in the schools of the state. In Bastar, children are studying in Halbi and Gondi dialects. In the interest of our youth who wish to become doctors, we have decided to conduct MBBS education in Hindi medium. Under the PM Shri School Scheme, we are making arrangements for modern education in 341 schools. He said that the development of cities and villages is happening continuously. Within a year, Rs 07 thousand crore has been released for the development of urban areas in the entire state.
Announcement of Rs 50 crore for drinking water supply in Nagar Panchayat Bastar
Addressing the program, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw announced Rs 50 crore for providing pure drinking water to every household in Nagar Panchayat Bastar under Amrit Mission Yojana. Forest and Cooperation Minister Kedar Kashyap said that there is a double engine government of Prime Minister Modi at the center and Chief Minister Say in the state, due to which the pace of development has increased. Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma, Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Singh Dev and Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap also addressed the program. On this occasion, Lok Sabha constituency Kanker Bhojraj Nag, MLAs Vinayak Goyal and Chaitram Atami, other public representatives and dignitaries of the area and a large number of villagers were present.
