Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday October 2, 2025 paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding the statue at Azad Chowk, the heart of the capital Raipur, and the statue of former Prime Minister Late Lal Bahadur Shastri at Shastri Chowk. On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s principles and ideals, highlighting his commitment to cleanliness. He said that Gandhiji gave a new direction to the freedom movement in India.

Remembering former Prime Minister Late Lal Bahadur Shastri, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that Shastriji’s contribution to the Indian freedom struggle and the creation of independent India is unforgettable. His personality, filled with truth, simplicity, and discipline, showed direction to the entire nation. Shastriji described the power of farmers and soldiers as the true strength of the nation and, with the slogan “Jai Jawan – Jai Kisan,” led the entire country on the path of self-reliance and hard work.
