New Delhi : Pollution has reached dangerous levels in Delhi with the decrease in temperature in the last two days. At 6.30 am on Friday November 15 , pollution levels reached dangerous levels in 8 out of 40 weather stations in Delhi, while the weather is expected to be clear and strong winds during the day. Pollution and dense fog problems are increasing in the severe category for the second consecutive day in Delhi. Visibility levels dropped to 300 meters in the morning, while Safdarjung recorded a drop of 700 meters, so Grape 3 restrictions have been imposed in Delhi.
According to the Real Time Air Quality Index, the most polluted area in New Delhi was the US Embassy area, i.e. AQI 474. Apart from this, Loni was 438, Punjabi Bagh and Shaheed Sukhdev College were 414, Daryaganj was 412, Civil Lines was 407, Mori Gate was 404 and Connaught Place was 401. AQI at other places was between 300 and 400.
The IMD said the sky will be clear on Friday. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of around 8 kmph in the morning, and moderate to dense fog will prevail at some places in Delhi. The wind speed will increase during the day, reaching 12 kmph in the afternoon.
Cold winds blew in Delhi on Thursday evening and a thick blanket of fog covered it, reducing visibility and increasing the cold. The second lowest temperature so far this season was recorded at 29.4 degrees Celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature at a distance of 200 meters at Safdarjung and Palam at 5:30 am was recorded at 27.8 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest temperature so far this winter season.
Rain is expected in Uttar Pradesh and dense fog in the state has reduced visibility in many parts. The Meteorological Department said that cold is likely to intensify further in Uttar Pradesh in the next few days, along with Bihar is also likely to get cold. Today, the maximum temperature in the state is expected to be 30 to 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 20 to 21 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of rain in Karnataka on November 18, Tamil Nadu on November 19, Andhra Pradesh on November 19 and Kerala on November 19.
