New Delhi: Former Amethi MP Smriti Irani has spoken publicly for the first time after her defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. She said that the defeat in Amethi has been analyzed at the top leadership level. What was discussed cannot be told here. Smriti Irani said that I kept my availability in Amethi, there was a complaint about the MP that he is not available. Smriti Irani said that I have contested from unsafe seats twice. I did not ask for a ticket even in 2014, 2019 or 2024. The party gave me a chance without asking for it.
Smriti Irani said about her defeat in Amethi that the biggest victory for me is that many people there said that I will return. This trust of the public in me is my victory. She said in a podcast named ‘Top Angle’ that when I went to Amethi, houses were built for 4 lakh people there. Toilets were built in the houses of 3.5 lakh people. There were fifty villages where roads had not been built since independence. I got gas connections for 80 thousand people. She said that the success for me is that I helped 50 thousand children get admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya.
Former Union Minister Smriti Irani said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee had also lost the election. Narendra Modi is the only person who has never lost an election. Not only this, during this time she also talked about the changing political narrative and said that the way caste is being talked about now is disturbing. Smriti Irani said that today it is ironic that even caste and clan are being talked about. People ask me that you have married a Parsi. Who were your mother and father? What was their caste and clan.
Has Narendra Modi become weak after winning only 240 Lok Sabha seats? On this question, Smriti Irani said that he cannot be weak. I have seen him for 20 years. She said that a lot is being said about Amethi. But it is also true that the Gandhi family did not come there to contest the elections. Smriti Irani said that I defeated the Congress President in 2019. No one can erase this fact. She said that if I was going to lose Amethi, someone from the Gandhi family would definitely have contested.
