Raipur : On the auspicious occasion of Hareli festival associated with the rich folk culture and agricultural tradition of Chhattisgarh, a program was organised with traditional gaiety and reverence at the residence office of the Revenue Minister.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the program and performed Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva, as well as duly performed puja of Mother Gauri amd Lord Ganesha , Nine planets and agricultural equipment and wished for the prosperity of the people of the state. On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Saw and Vijay Sharma, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwada, Raipur Mayor Meenal Chaubey and many public representatives were present.

Chief Minister Sai said that Hareli festival is a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s lifestyle, faith of hardworking farmers and respect for nature. Our government is constantly striving for the welfare of farmers, upliftment of rural economy and preservation of traditional values. Maintaining the attraction of traditional forms like Gidi among children is the protection of our cultural heritage. We should connect our new generation with Chhattisgarhi culture through such festivals.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that Hareli festival is a festival of worship of farmers, farm-barn and cattle. It is believed that on this day Shiva-Parvati themselves come to Bhu-Lok to see the farming of the farmers. The series of festivals in Chhattisgarh starts from Hareli itself.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that Hareli is a festival connected to the soul of Chhattisgarh. It is a symbol of respect for our land, hard work and tradition. This festival reflects the faith of our farmers and their deep connection with nature.

Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma said that the state government is continuously working in the interest of farmers. Festivals like Hareli connect us to our roots and inspire us to keep the agricultural culture alive. In this festival, the competition of driving Gidi is a special center of attraction for children. Also, by giving nutritious food to the cattle, the villagers express gratitude towards the livestock.

On this occasion, the tune of traditional musical instruments, presentation of Chhattisgarhi folk songs, Gidi climbing competition and folk dances enlivened the entire atmosphere.

The venue of the program was filled with glimpses of Chhattisgarhi culture and folk tradition. In the program, by performing puja of traditional agricultural tools, people expressed their reverence towards nature and agricultural tradition and reiterated the resolve to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh.
