Vinesh Phogat: Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has won the hottest Julana seat of Haryana assembly elections. She was contesting from here on a Congress ticket. Everyone’s eyes were on this seat.

Vinesh Phogat has done wonders. She has been elected MLA from Julana seat. When the results of Haryana assembly elections were declared on 8 October, Vinesh won on a Congress ticket in Julana. She defeated BJP’s Captain Yogesh Bairagi here by 6015 votes. Vinesh, who has shown her strength in wrestling, will now raise the voice of the people in the assembly. After Phogat’s victory, there is an atmosphere of celebration in the Congress camp here. Her fellow wrestler Bajrang Punia has congratulated Vinesh on her victory in a tweet.

There was an exciting contest between BJP and Congress

Vinesh Phogat was ahead in the first round on this seat, then she lagged behind in the second round. She kept going back and forth till the sixth phase. Then in the 7th phase, she turned the tables. She was ahead of BJP candidate Yogesh Kumar by 38 votes. In the 8th phase, Vinesh took a lead of 2147 and kept moving ahead rapidly. Ultimately, she won by 6015 votes.

She missed gold in Paris Olympics

Paris Olympics 2024 has been a very challenging time for Vinesh Phogat. Before the final match, her weight had increased by 100 grams, due to which she was disqualified before the gold medal match. Vinesh also appealed against this decision in the Court of Arbitration for Sports, but her appeal was rejected. This incident not only affected her Olympic journey, but also had a profound impact on her career, after which she announced her retirement from wrestling.

Vinesh Phogat’s brilliant career

2014 Commonwealth Games- Vinesh started her international career with a bang and won the gold medal. This success inspired her towards the Olympics.

2016 Rio Olympics- Vinesh reached the quarterfinals, but failed to win a medal. This experience made her stronger.

2018 Commonwealth and Asian Games- Vinesh proved her talent and ability by winning gold medals in both these tournaments.

World Championship and Asian Championship- Vinesh also won many medals in these championships and played an important role in Indian wrestling.

2020 Tokyo Olympics- Vinesh participated in Tokyo Olympics, but missed out on winning a medal there too.

2022 Commonwealth Games- Vinesh once again created history and won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games for the third consecutive time.

2024 Paris Olympics- Vinesh reached the final of the Paris Olympics, but could not win a medal as she was disqualified due to overweight. This incident turned her career into a big setback.

2024: Retirement from wrestling- She missed out on gold in Paris Olympics because she was 100 grams overweight before the final. She was disqualified. After this shock, Vinesh Phogat announced her retirement from wrestling, ending her great and inspiring career.
