Kamakhya Express Train Derailed: There is news of Kamakhya Express train derailing near Nergundi railway station in Odisha. It was reported that 11 coaches of the train have derailed. So far no passenger has been reported injured. Officials are reaching the spot. The Railway Ministry is also keeping an eye on the matter.
News of a railway accident is coming from Odisha. It is being told that several coaches of the Kamakhya Express train have derailed here. This accident happened near Nergundi railway station in Cuttack. So far seven passengers have been reported injured. The train was going from Bangalore to Kamakhya station in Guwahati, Assam. The cause of the accident has not been known yet.
Accident at Nirgundi near Manguli at 11.54 am
An express train derailed in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Sunday, an official said. 11 coaches of the SMVT Bangalore-Kamakhya AC Express derailed at Nirgundi near Manguli at 11.54 am. There are no reports of any injuries or casualties so far.
‘The maximum number of injured people should not exceed 10’
So far seven people have been injured in the accident. Odisha Fire Service Director General Sudhanshu Sarangi said that seven injured people have been rushed to the hospital. The maximum number of injured people should not exceed 10. He said that NDRF and Odisha Fire Service personnel are helping the railways in the rescue operation.

According to the information, helplines 8455885999 and 8991124238 have been started. Necessary arrangements are being made to send the stranded passengers to their destination.
Three trains diverted
Officials said that three trains have been diverted due to the derailment. These trains are Dhauli Express, Nilachal Express and Purulia Express.
No one injured, all passengers safe: CPRO
On the derailment, East Coast Railway CPRO Ashok Kumar Mishra said, ‘We have received information about some coaches of 12551 Kamakhya Superfast Express derailing. So far we have received information that 11 AC coaches have derailed. No one is injured. All passengers are safe.’

‘We will know the cause of derailment after investigation’
He said that as far as we have got information, accident relief train, emergency medical equipment have been sent. Senior officials are going to reach the spot soon. DRM Khurda Road, GM, ECoR and other high level officials have reached the spot. We will know the cause of derailment after investigation. Our first priority is to divert the trains waiting on the route and start restoration work.
Assam in touch with Odisha government and railways
After the accident, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also tweeted. He wrote on Twitter, ‘I am aware of the incident involving 12551 Kamakhya Express in Odisha. CMO Assam is in touch with Odisha government and railways. We will contact every person affected.’
