Operation Sindoor: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reached Srinagar, LG Manoj Sinha also present; will meet the soldiers

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir today. The Defence Minister has reached Srinagar Airbase. LG Manoj Sinha and Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi are present with him. The Defence Minister will take stock of the security situation on the border. He will also boost the morale of the soldiers. This is Rajnath Singh’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reached Adampur Airbase in Punjab and met the Air Force soldiers and boosted their morale.

According to sources, the Defence Minister will reach the Poonch Army Headquarters along with Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi. Where he will meet the army officers and soldiers and pat them on the back for the success of Operation Sindoor. After this, Rajnath will meet administrative officers and dignitaries.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh may visit Poonch. Let us tell you that Pakistan, enraged by Operation Sindoor, had fired heavily for five days targeting residential areas along the Line of Control. There has been a huge loss of life and property in Poonch district. Leaders of various political parties including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah are visiting Poonch and taking stock of the damage by meeting the people affected by Pakistan’s shelling. In such a situation, Rajnath Singh will also visit the district to pay tribute to the sacrifice of the people of Poonch.

Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor and ceasefire

15 days after the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, the Indian Army destroyed nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK under ‘Operation Sindoor’ on 7 May. In which many notorious terrorists were also killed. After this, the situation between the two countries deteriorated and reached its peak after two decades. On the other hand, after Pakistan targeted Indian cities, India’s air defense system foiled all the attacks and gave a befitting reply. India retaliated and destroyed 14 military bases of Pakistan. Panicked by this, Pakistan proposed a ceasefire to India on 10 May, which was implemented by both the countries after mutual discussion. However, a few hours later, it was violated by Pakistan, to which the Indian Army gave a befitting reply.
