‘PM Modi’s government is not fascist…’, Congress and CPI got angry on CPM’s resolution.

The resolution prepared by the CPM for its Congress in April states that the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is neither fascist nor neo-fascist. The differences in the Left Front have now come out in the open regarding this.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) is to hold a meeting in Madurai, Tamil Nadu in the month of April. A battle has begun within the Left over the political proposal prepared for this meeting. The political proposal prepared by the CPM states that the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not fascist or neo-fascist.

This political proposal prepared for the 24th Congress of the CPM also explains why the Modi government has not been called fascist or neo-fascist and why the Indian State has not been considered neo-fascist. The draft of this political proposal prepared for the proposed Congress in Madurai, Tamil Nadu in the month of April was approved in the CPM Central Committee meeting held in Kolkata from 17 to 19 January.

Now the notes related to this have been sent to the state units. The Congress has made a harsh comment on this comment in the political proposal of the CPM regarding the Modi government. At the same time, the CPM’s alliance partner CPI has also demanded an improvement in its stand. CPI has said that the haste of CPM to avoid calling Modi government fascist is not understandable.
CPI’s Kerala unit secretary Binoy Viswam has said that fascist ideology teaches how religion and faith can be used for political gain. BJP government is putting it into practice. Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly VD Satish has targeted CPM over this resolution.
He has said that CPM has always compromised with Sangh and fascism in Kerala. This resolution is not surprising, it exposes their CPM’s years old secret relationship with BJP. At the same time, CPM Central Committee member AK Balan has said that CPM never considered Modi government as fascist VD Satish added.

What is in the CPM resolution?

In the note sent to the state units regarding the resolution prepared by the CPM for the Congress, it is written that we are emphasizing that after 10 years of continuous rule by the RSS’s political wing BJP, there has been a consolidation of political power, the result of which is visible in the form of neo-fascist characteristics. The resolution also states that the attempt to implement the reactionary Hindutva agenda and the authoritarian campaign to suppress the opposition and democracy exhibit fascist aspects. At the same time, it has also been clarified by the party that we are not saying that the Modi government is a fascist or neo-fascist government. Nor are we calling the Indian State neo-fascist.
